About The Contented Kitty

I Love Animals!

Whether you’re going away or just going to be gone long hours in the day, I offer conscientious, caring visits for your pet (or pets). I adore animals and have over twenty years experience. I mostly offer cat sitting, but I am also available to take care of a mellow dog, bunny or other small furry creatures.  I offer dog walking to small and medium-sized dogs. The Contented Kitty is just me (Cathleen) so your pet will have the consistency of the same caretaker each visit.

Lifelong Experience

I grew up around cats and some of my best friends are, and always have been cats. I have been pet sitting in the East Bay for over 20 years—my aim is for you and your pet (or pets) to feel relaxed and comfortable while you’re away.

What Visits Include

I offer stop-by cat care either once or twice a day. Visits include petting and affection, playtime (if your cat feels like it), feeding, litter box cleaning, bringing in mail, watering house plants, and giving medication if needed.

I offer pet sitting services in the East Bay including El Cerrito, El Cerrito Hills,  Albany,  North Berkeley and parts of Richmond. I mainly offer stop-by care though once in a blue moon I board animals or pet sit overnight. Below are answers to commonly asked questions.

There are three time slots that you can choose from as far as when I can stop by: Morning 10am - 12pm, Afternoon 1pm - 3pm, Evening 5pm - 8pm. I can stop by once or twice a day.

Yes, I offer a free initial meeting so you and I and your pet can get acquainted to see if it's a good fit.

A 30 minute visit is $30.00, a 45 minute visit is $40, and an hour visit is $50. I charge $20 to come pick up your key and $20 to drop it off again—to forgo those fees you can also drop the key off to me (or hide it).

I primarily offer cat care, but can also take care of a mellow or elderly dog, bunnies and other small furry creatures. I offer dog walking to small and medium-sized dogs.

Mostly I offer stop-by visits, occasionally I offer overnight pet sitting. Please contact me for more information.

I require at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled petsit there is a cancellation fee of either $99 or 50% of the overall cost of the petsit (whichever is lower).
